Easy to Cook Recipes: Lutong-bahay na, Lutong Pinoy pa!


Fresh Lumpia

The hardest part in cooking fresh lumpia is the preparations coz there are 4-5 things you need to do.

  1. Fillings
  2. Wrapper
  3. Sauce
  4. Toppings
  5. Final Product

But it's worth "eat"! 



200 g Tofu (cut into thinsmall cubes)

½ kg. Bean Sprouts orUbod (cut into thin strips)

1 pc. Medium Carrot (cutinto thin strips)

100 g. Baguio Beans (cutinto small diagonal slices)

1 pc. Medium Onion(chopped)

5 gloves Garlic (minced)

1 small sachet Powdered Seasoning(Ginisa Mix or Magic Sarap)

1 tbs. Oyster Sauce

½ cup cooking oil


Powdered black pepper(optional)



1 cup Cornstarch

1 cup Evaporated milk

4 pcs. Eggs



2 ½ cups Water

½ cup Soy Sauce

½ cup Cornstarch

½ cup Brown Sugar

5 gloves Garlic (minced)



10 blue sachets Happy Peanut (greaseless – pounded into tiny bits)

1 ½ tbs. White Sugar




  1. Heat oil in a wok &stir fry tofu until golden brown.
  2. Add garlic & onion.Keep stirring.
  3. Add bean sprouts, baguio beans & carrots. Continue stirring.
  4. Season with powdered seasoning, oyster sauce & black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Remove from fire when veggies are cooked.

  1. In a mixing bowl beat the eggs.
  2. Add evaporated milk and cornstarch then mix thoroughly until there is no lump.
  3. Heat non-stick frying pan overlow fire.
  4. Put 1 scoop of batter in the pan and spread it in circular motion (as you cook pancake) but make sure it will create thin film.
  5. When top is dry flip the otherside for 2 seconds.  Do not overcooked.


  1. Combine all ingredientsin a sauce pan.  Stir well until cornstarch & sugar are dissolved.
  2. Put sauce pan over lowfire.  Bring to boil with constant stirring.
  3. Simmer for 2 mins.  Don’t stop stirring.
  4. Remove from fire when sauce thickens.


  1. In a small mixing bowl,combine peanuts and sugar.
  2. Mix thoroughly.


  1. Place a wrapper on aplate and put 1 lettuce leaf.
  2. Spread ½ peanut mix then add 2 tbs. lumpia fillings.
  3. Roll the wrapper until fillings are fully wrapped.
  4. Spread sauce on top and sprinkle toppings.


Makes 10-12 servings.
